Law 1:
The Product Title

Avoid corporate pride!

The biggest mistake I see is companies putting their brand or company name as the first thing in the product title.

When people are searching on Amazon they are usually searching for a specific product e.g. a mop, a broom etc.
Amazon prides itself on being able to display the products it thinks you are looking for and being ultra-relevant .

Putting brand names and company names as the first words of the title gets you no brownie points with Amazon.
If you are selling a 12 inch brush then “12 Inch Brush” should be the first words in your product title!

It sounds so simple but you would be amazed how many people screw this up, just because they don’t know how Amazon works and are in love with the brand they have developed or company they own.

Use the real estate Amazon gives you!

Another massive mistake is short titles.

You want your product to stand out from the rest so you need to take up as much of the screen as possible by using all the characters Amazon allows.

Put some key features of your product in the title as long as they're relevant. Think of what people would be searching for when looking for your product and weave those phrases and words into you product title.

Here are some examples of how not to do it and how it should be done.

Bad Example: See how they have put the brand name first. They are selling flea shampoo for dogs so that should be what the first words in the title should be.

Good Example: Note how Amazon give you a place to put your brand anyway so don’t waste valuable real estate by putting it in your title.
Also note that they have used three times the amount of words in their title making it it stand out from the rest of the listings from sellers who don’t know how to write a product title.

Keith Herd

I was running my Amazon store as hobby until recently. I had a call with Value+ who gave me some tips on how to improve my store and now I've quit my job to run my store full time. I'm making more money now than I was in my full time job.

Laura Curran

My sales have more than doubled since Value+ audited my site. It's crazy how such small tweaks can make such a huge difference. I would recommend Value+ to anyone selling on Amazon.

Matthew Marchant

Peter's ebook enabled me to improve several areas of my Amazon FBA selling including: Improving my reviews, fulfilment strategy and product ideas.
